Our Journey
1964 - Rural Electric is founded
Founded by Bill St. Couer, the company primarily performs residential and service work throughout the East Valley.
1977 - New Owners
Rural Electric is purchased by Roger & Judy Bieberdorf.
1979 - First Airport Lighting Project
Rural Electric completes first airport lighting project at Phoenix Air National Guard, Papago Facility – East/West Runway.
1979 - Became Incorporated
In December, Rural Electric is incorporated as a Corporation.
1981 - Licensed in California
Obtained contractor’s license in the State of California.
1995 - Award First $1M+ Project
The company is awarded the FAA Navaids for 16R/34L at Salt Lake International Airport.
1996 - Manufacturing Division Creation
Rural Electric starts designing and manufacturing many FAA listed products.
1996 - First Texas Project Completed
Rural Electric completes Randolph AFB’s Runway Lighting Rehab located in Texas.
2001 - Licensed in Colorado
Obtained electrical contractor’s license in the State of Colorado.
2004 - Licensed in Texas
Obtained electrical contractor’s license in the State of Texas.
2004 - Licensed in Nevada
Obtained electrical contractor’s license in the State of Nevada.
2005 - ISO 9001 Registered Manufacturer
Rural Electric becomes an ISO 9001 CERTIFIED MANUFACTURER
2006 - Annie and Brett Purchase Company
Rural Electric is purchased by Annie Fogerty and Brett Bieberdorf (2nd generation).
2007 - Southwest Contractors Best Civil Project Award
Rural Electric received the Southwest Contractor’s Best Civil Project award for the Phoenix Sky Harbor Taxiway S Reconstruction & Bridge.
2007 - Southwest Contractors Best Transportation Project Award
Rural Electric received the Southwest Contractor’s Best Transportation Project award for the Camelback Pedestrian Underpass project.
2010 - Crescordia Award
Won Crescordia Award in Public Works for the Tres Rios Wetlands Construction project.
2011 - ENR Award for Best Transportation Project
Rural Electric wins Engineering News Record’s Best Transportation Project for the SR 303 Happy Valley Road, Lake Pleasant Parkway project.
2011 - Licensed in New Mexico
Obtained electrical contractor’s license in the State of New Mexico.
2012 - Licensed in Oklahoma
Obtained electrical contractor’s license in the State of Oklahoma.
2014 - Rural Electric Celebrates 50 Years in Business
From our humble beginnings in 1964, we have come a long way in 50 years.
2017 - Mining Division is formed
